No accounts, no forms
You can use every page and feature on this site — prayer times, Qibla direction, the Ramadan Imsakia, the Zakat calculator, the widget and the API — without creating an account, logging in, or submitting any personal information through a form.
The "Locate me" button
If you tap "Locate me" to jump straight to your city, we first try your browser's own Geolocation API — with your permission — and that coordinate is used only inside your browser, to find the nearest city in our list; it is never sent to or stored on our servers. If your browser can't provide GPS location (or you decline the permission prompt), we fall back to an IP-based lookup through a third-party service, GeoJS, which receives your IP address to estimate an approximate city-level location. You can skip all of this entirely by using the search box instead.
What's saved in your browser
Your preferred calculation method and Asr school (if you change them), along with the city we last detected for you, are saved locally in your browser's localStorage/sessionStorage — never on our servers. You can clear this anytime from your browser's site-data settings, and it has no effect on anyone else.
Standard server logs
Like virtually any website, our hosting infrastructure keeps basic technical logs (such as IP address, browser type, and requested page) for security and performance purposes. We don't use this data for advertising or profiling, and we don't operate any analytics or advertising trackers on this site.
Third-party resources loaded on this site
To display the site properly, your browser loads a few resources directly from other providers, each of which may receive standard technical request data (like your IP address) as part of normal web delivery:
